Meet Carrie

she/her

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience in both school and mental health settings. I studied psychology and engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) at Loyola University Chicago. I have a passion for working with children and adolescents and building safe and trusting relationships. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is the catalyst for client change and resilience. While my specialty is working with kids, adolescents and young adults, I enjoy working with all ages and needs.

My approach is highly relational. I use a strength-based and collaborative approach, incorporating various techniques from theories and research based approaches including Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment and Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma informed Care, Art Therapy, social emotional learning, play therapy, mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My experience working as a school social worker in Chicago and Austin has allowed me to help clients and families navigate within the school system.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 boys.  In my free time I love to bake, garden, read, and do anything crafty.  I also love running, hiking, yoga, and watching the Fighting Illini men's basketball.
